What is Anti-wrinkle Injection?
An anti-wrinkle injection is when botulinum toxin type A used to reduce the appearance of wrinkles & fine lines. Botox® is the trade name for a substance injected into the skin that inhibits muscle movement and prevents wrinkles from developing or worsening.
Anti-wrinkle injections can be injected into the muscles underneath the skin to impede muscle movements that lead to expression lines and wrinkles to help restore or prolong a more youthful, refreshed appearance. Anti-wrinkle injections can significantly improve the appearance of crow’s feet, forehead, and frown lines.

Facial Slimming with Anti-wrinkle Injections For Masseter Reduction
Botulinum toxin type A can be administered in the masseters (jaw muscles) to create a slimmer, V-shaped face appearance. Additional benefits of masseter reduction injections include relieving TMJ and jaw tension and reducing teeth grinding at night.

Aging Gracefully with Preventative Anti-wrinkle Injections
Various factors can contribute to the appearance of forehead lines, frown lines, and crow’s feet, including sun exposure, smoking, dehydrated skin, and natural aging. These wrinkles are always dynamic at first, meaning they are apparent only when we make certain facial expressions, i.e., from smiling, laughing, squinting, raising our brows, frowning etc. Over time, with repeated use of the muscles and as we lose collagen and elastin in the skin, the wrinkles will become static and existent even without expression. If these expression lines are left untreated, they will become deeper and longer as we age. That is why it is helpful to introduce Preventative Anti-wrinkle Injections—introducing Anti-wrinkle Injections earlier in our anti-aging journey to prevent expression lines and wrinkles from developing, worsening, and becoming static (existent even without expression).

How many units of Anti-wrinkle injections will you need?
The number of units required will vary from patient to patient, depending on the strength of the muscles being treated and the depth and length of the lines. For example, for women, if the crow’s feet are very minimal, we may use as little as 5-6 units per side. For more extensive crow’s feet, we use about 9-12 units per side. For men, it is generally about 1.5 to 2 times the dosage needed for women due to stronger muscles.
When will you see the results?
Optimal results are reached between 7-14 days for most areas. Masseter reduction may take 2-4 weeks to achieve results.

Can Men receive Anti-wrinkle Injections?
Yes! More and more men are doing this treatment to lessen the appearance of wrinkles and as a preventative measure to prevent new wrinkles and lines from forming. In 2015, a study from the American Society of Plastic Surgeons found that men getting injections increased by 337 percent since 2000. Men are primarily getting anti-wrinkle injections injected in their upper face, mainly to reduce the appearance of frown lines, forehead lines, and crow’s feet around their eyes.
What happens when I stop my Anti-wrinkle injection treatment?
When you stop Anti-wrinkle Injection treatment, the muscles that were relaxed will gradually become active again, and the crow’s feet will reappear. It will not make it worse. Consistent treatments over time will actually slow the aging process by helping to prevent the development and deepening of wrinkles.

Is there any downtime?
Following the treatment, there will be small papules that will subside in about 20 minutes. Many patients are able to undergo this treatment during their lunch break and go back to work without anyone noticing, hence it’s often called the lunchtime treatment.
What are the side effects of anti-wrinkle injection treatment?
Side effects are generally minimal and many patients may not experience any at all. However, you may occasionally have light bruising, injection marks, pain at the injection site, swelling, and redness around the injected area, although this should not last long. Infrequently, patients may experience discomfort of affected muscles, or drooping of upper eyelid muscles. These side effects usually resolve itself over time and are rare cases. If there is an allergic reaction, or other allergy symptoms of Botox like severe itching, rash, and dizziness, these responses should be treated immediately by medical healthcare providers. However, again, this is an extremely rare case.

FAQs
With Microbotox, a needle as fine as a single strand of hair is used to deliver Botox® into strategic locations of the skin. With a needle so fine, discomfort is minimized.
When Botox® is injected by a skillful professional injector, this should not occur.
Yes. Botox® for jawline reduction is a nonsurgical, injectable procedure that uses Botox to soften and feminize the contour of the lower face by shrinking the large masseter muscles that are attached to the angles of the jawbone. In case of jawline reduction, it takes 2-4 weeks to get full effects and results last about 5-6 months.
The benefit of Botox® is that it works on everyone within a few days. Botox® works by weakening the muscles that form the wrinkles. Botox®, when injected by a professional injector, should make you look refreshed, naturally beautiful and younger without appearing ‘frozen’.

With Conventional Botox®, Botox® is charged per unit. The dosage, and thus cost varies depending on the patient’s age, gender, number of previous injections and muscle strength.
