Microbotox is a newer, more advanced Botox-based injection technique that originated in Korea about a decade ago. With Microbotox, the same medication, Botox, is used to reduce the appearance of crow’s feet, forehead lines and frown lines but with much more natural results.
With Microbotox, a needle as fine as a single strand of hair is used to inject Botox into various strategic locations of the skin. Depending on the area and the need of the patient, the penetration of the Botox can be relatively superficial compared to the conventional method of application where Botox is only injected into the muscles below the skin. This means more natural results – the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles can be reduced without you having to worry about looking unnatural or frozen.

In addition to treating fine lines and wrinkles in a more natural manner, when Botox is injected into the skin (as opposed to only the muscles as with conventional Botox), it can also reduce pore sizes and lift and tighten the skin. The procedure makes the skin look delicate, poreless and rejuvenated! In other words, Microbotox essentially gives you a natural-looking facelift with zero downtime.
GMA is the only clinic in Markham and amongst the very few clinics in the entire GTA to provide this advanced skin rejuvenation treatment.
GMA’s microbotox treatments are performed by our microbotox specialist, injector Hong. She has 10 years of injection experience and completed over 2000 Botox cases in Toronto alone. She is licensed in three different countries, Canada, U.S. and Korea. Injector Hong is recognized as the pioneer of Microbotox in Canada.

Botox is a brand of botulinum toxin type A. Botox is the trade name for a substance injected into the skin which is known to inhibit muscle movement and prevent wrinkles from developing or worsening.
Patients may see some results in just a few days. However, final results will usually take about 2-4 weeks depending on the dosage and treatment area.
With Microbotox, a needle as fine as a single strand of hair is used to deliver Botox into strategic locations of the skin. With a needle so fine, discomfort is minimized.
When Botox is injected by a skillful professional injector, this should not occur.
Yes. Botox for jawline reduction is a nonsurgical, injectable procedure that uses Botox to soften and feminize the contour of the lower face by shrinking the large masseter muscles that are attached to the angles of the jawbone. In case of jawline reduction, it takes 2-4 weeks to get full effects and results last about 5-6 months.
Yes. More and more men are doing this treatment to lessen the appearance of wrinkles and as a preventative measure to prevent new wrinkles and lines from forming. Based on our experience, men are primarily getting Botox injected in their foreheads and around their eyes.
The benefit of Botox is that it works on everyone within a few days. Botox works by weakening the muscles that form the wrinkles. Botox, when injected by a professional injector, should make you look refreshed, naturally beautiful and younger without appearing ‘frozen’.
Botox treatment results typically last for a couple of months. For the first 3 treatments, Microbotox should be done 3-4 months apart for optimal results.
Following Microbotox, there will be small papules that will reside in about 20 minutes. Many patients are able to undergo this treatment during their lunch break and go back to work without anyone noticing.
Side effects are generally minimal and many patients may not experience any at all. However, you may occasionally have light bruising, injection marks, pain at the injection site, swelling, and redness around the injected area, although this should not last long.
Infrequently, patients may experience discomfort of affected muscles, or drooping of upper eyelid muscles. These side effects usually resolve itself over time and are rare cases.
No. Botox is a very safe cosmetic support for dynamic wrinkles. Wrinkles will gradually return without maintenance treatments but stopping Botox applications does not make them worse.
Wrinkles will just reappear and return to its original, pre-treatment state. As a matter of fact, Botox can prevent new wrinkles from forming and act as a good preventative measure.
With Conventional Botox, Botox is charged per unit. The dosage, and thus cost varies depending on the patient’s age, gender, number of previous injections and muscle strength.
With Microbotox, rather than charging on a per unit basis, GMA charges per part. The price will vary depending on the treatment area.
It is important to consult with one of our medical professionals to determine the appropriate treatment plan for optimal results.
