Like what you see in the mirror everyday? Want to stay looking like that for as long as possible? Whether you are in your 20s, 30s, or 40s and 50s, we are going to break down all the Anti-Aging tricks and tips this month. Read on to find the anti-aging secrets and learn how you can beat the visible signs of aging.

Though aging is a natural process, certain habits and conditions can significantly accelerate it, causing premature aging signs to appear. Things that have the biggest negative impact on the way your skin ages include sun and free radical exposure, repeated facial movements, pollution, unhealthy life style and inadequate skincare routine. All of these can cause visible changes in the skin’s health, texture and appearance.

When the synthesis of supportive proteins, such as collagen and elastin become insufficient, the skin loses its firmness and elasticity and starts to sag and wrinkles and fine lines appear. The levels of hyaluronic acid in our skin also progressively drop. Hyaluronic acid is a humectant that normally hydrates the skin. Without it, the skin loses its plumpness and suppleness which gives us the youthful appearance. Our sebaceous glands also start to secrete less and less sebum. The skin’s lipid barrier becomes damaged and insufficient, which leads to dryness and dehydration that makes the skin appear rough and unhealthy.

One of the biggest changes as we age is that skin’s natural renewal cycle begins to slow down. Skin has a natural ability to renew itself, this cycle, with a healthy skin, takes about 28 days to complete, however, as we age, the skin renewal process significantly slows down. In our 40s and 50s it can take 45 – 60 days, while in our 60s it can take 60 – 90 days for the skin to produce new cells. This leads to dullness and tired looking skin that lacks radiance and brightness.  So, what should we do? It doesn’t have to be complicated, it’s all about looking healthy for your age.

Tip #1: Wearing Sunscreen Everyday! It’s a Must, Even On A Cloudy Day!!
Sunscreen protect the skin from the sun’s harmful UV rays. These harmful beams not only increase your chances of getting skin cancer, but also cause wrinkles, age spots, and loss of collagen.  Try EltaMD® UV Daily Broad-Spectrum SPF 40 that offers UV protection and superior hydration to boost moisture retention and diminish fine lines.

Tip #2: Use a Face Wash. Healthy Skin Starts from a clean Face!
Spend a few minutes cleaning your skin thoroughly but gently so that the horny layer is not disrupted. Massage for two to three minutes to make sure that the skin is thoroughly cleansed but not abraded.

Tip #3: Get Your Beauty Sleep
Healthy rest habits can boost your appearance through a glowing complexion and fewer dark circles under your eyes. Treat yourself well and get some good sleep.

Tip #4: Start Retinoids As Early As Possible
Vitamin deficiency, particularly a lack of vitamin A, begins with visible signs of aging such as wrinkles, fine lines and pigmentation, plus skin can become coarse and dull in texture. Vitamin A helps to keep skin cells healthy and more resistant to damage. “It works on the DNA and helps strengthen the skin” says world renowned Dr Des Fernades. Environ’s patented AVST Step-Up system is the safest approach to reach the highest concentration of Vitamin A without any irritation. It also contains a powerful blend of vitamin C and E, peptides, botanical extracts and antioxidants to promote a healthy and resilient skin

Tip #5: Sweat it Out!
Exercise gives your face a healthy glow by increasing blood flow. And when you sweat, it clears the body of toxins and removes dead skins cells so new ones can grow.

Tip #6: Don’t Forget to Exfoliate
Exfoliate regularly to remove the dead skin cells that can give you a dull appearance. GMA’s favorite is Environ’s Tri BioBotanical Revival Masque. It’s formulated with three powerful alpha hydroxy acid – Asiatic, Lactic and Mandelic – to gently exfoliate and rejuvenate the skin, leaving it feeling smoother and radiant.

Tip #7: Eat A Rainbow Everyday and A Little More…
When we follow a diet that’s rich with a variety of high-quality foods that contain antioxidants, healthy fats, water, and different nutrients, our body will show its appreciation through its largest organ: our skin. Also consider supplement such as Bend Anti-Aging Formula that’s proven to reduce skin sensitivity to UV rays, restore skin hydration and decrease inflammation internally.

Tip #8: It’s All About The Eye
The skin around your eyes is the thinnest, so it shows the first signs of aging. Even if you’re in your 20s, preventative skin care such as PCA SKIN Ideal Complex Restorative Eye Cream helps strengthens, firms and lifts the skin around the entire eye area.

Tip #9: Treat Yourself
Get a monthly facial. It’s common for women to think that getting a facial is a treat, however including a regular facial, such as GMA’s Hollywood Facial in your regimen is proven to promote a healthy, resilient skin in the long run by infusing the skin with essential vitamins and hydration.

Tip #10: Go Under The Needles!
The Environ Cosmetic Roll-CIT is a home skin care device that uses tiny needles to puncture the surface of the skin. The needles stimulate the body’s natural defence mechanism which includes increased healing and skin regeneration, leading to younger looking skin. It also maximizes the absorption of your skin care products.
